Ø
Every living organisms has specific chromosome number
and chromosome morphology.Despite the fact that
different species have the same chromosome number, they
have different chromosome morphology. Karyological
properties are also crucial in order to solve
taxonomic problems and determine phylogenetic
relationships.
Ø
Karyotype is the representation
of entire metaphase chromosomes in a cell, arranged in
order of size. The Criteria used in karyotype analysis
are chromosome number , total length, short/long arm
length, arm ratio, centromere position and satellite.
Ø
BAB Bschromo software was
developed in order to perform that methods
pratically.By using the programme, total length
and short/long arm length can be measure. According to
the results homolog chromosome pairs can be identified
and idiogram can be drawn.
